A Hawaii bride here, I am thinking of having my
wedding in Oahu, somewhere near the Waikiki
Beach.
I currently live in Japan and have gone to
agents here that plan weddings in Hawaii, but they are
soooo expensive and have no flexibility at
all!! I want this event to be "us" and I knew that if I
went through them, it would be another typical
wedding for a Japanese couple. So I thought since I can
speak fluent English, why not I hire a Wedding
Coordinator in Hawaii to help me.
I am thinking of having my wedding sometime in
June next year.
These are the following items I was hoping you
could help me with.
A wedding by the beach with the ocean as the
back ground
Somewhere quiet
A priest
An arch, chairs, ribbons and flowers
Music
<Hair & Makeup>
Someone who has lots of experience with Asians
and can come to the hotel (will be near central
Waikiki)
<Photos & Video>
Someone who has good taste, fun and can stay
throughout the ceremony and reception.
Now this is an issue. Do you happen to know a
vendor that can air the dress in about my size (size 8
ish)? I checked out David's Bridal but they don't
send over seas. I'll do the small adjustments here
in Japan.
<Transportation>
I need to hire someone who will transport about
15 guest from the hotel to the ceremony location and
to the restaurant where we are having our
reception and then back to their hotels.
<Reception>
I want to find a nice restaurant with good food
with a roof but outside right near the ocean.
Also a florist who will decorate the tables. I
will also need music. Also the wedding cake.
As I have already mentioned above, I need them
to decorate the ceremony, reception, flowers which I
will carry, some for my hair, flowers to pin on
our parents.
<Tuxedos>
I was thinking of having our fathers wear Aloha
shirts (I don't know if they would like this idea...)
and my husband to be a white Aloha shirt and white
pants. If they all hate this idea, I will go back
to having them rent tuxedos.... So I might need a
vendor who rent out tuxedos or a shop that sells
Aloha shirts in different colors.
<Events>
Something fun for the guests during their stay
in Hawaii. Although most of them will be surfers
(including us), some might still want to Golf,
swim with the dolphins, etc.
I am planning to ask the guest to come in Aloha
shirts and Mumus :)
Do you think you will be able to help me with
above requests?
I'm probably forgetting bunch of stuff and I'm
hoping you could help me with that as well. If so, how
much do you think this whole thing will cost?
